SRRF’s operator, Covanta Stanislaus, Inc. gained membership in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) National Environment Performance Track program for demonstrating continuous improvements in environmental performance beyond regulatory compliance! (link to certificate) SRRF contains over $20 million worth of “state-of-the-art” pollution control systems, which meets all federal and state air emission standards. Since its start-up in 1989, the facility's environmental performance has exceeded expectations! The addition of mercury control systems in 2000, as required by EPA’s Clean Air Act, further improved SRRF’s air control standards to levels far better than the permitted limits.
